Domaine de Cristia farms in Courthzon on the northeastern edge of Chteauneuf du Pape, and the Vieilles Vignes fruit comes from Cristia Haut sandy clay with north and east exposures, which is a large part of why a wine this concentrated still tastes lifted rather than baked.
